Yuan Sha, born in 1977 in Tiantai County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, is a renowned Chinese guzheng performer. She is a teacher of traditional Chinese music at the Central Conservatory of Music’s affiliated high school, a member of the Guzheng Professional Committee of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society, and the Vice President of the China-Europe Alliance for Cultural and Artistic Education. Yuan Sha has won the top three national and international guzheng competitions, making her a distinguished figure in the field.

The guzheng, an instrument with origins dating back 2,500 years to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, carries strings that resonate with either delicate elegance or powerful intensity. Its sound has transcended time, echoing through the ages and captured within the pages of history. As the representative of guzheng artistry for China’s Lunar Exploration Program "音乐芯片," Yuan Sha’s performances embody the poetic essence of guzheng aesthetics. Her playing, with its refined and ethereal quality, serves as a deeply heartfelt and natural expression of the Chinese cultural spirit.
