Headed by harpist Carol Tatum, the emphasis is on fluid, elegant orchestration and a weaving of various melodic themes that occasionally, but not too obviously, interlock with a fragile, confident line of attack. There's a general feeling of gentility, joy and ethereal mystery throughout sprinkled occasionally with medieval and Middle Eastern flavors. The album has a weight often missing from the crystal-gazing stereotypes of the new age community with substance and quality noted in compositions, arrangements and musicianship.
