Graduating from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Yale University, and the University of Southern California, cellist Ma Xinhua is one of the founding members of the Shanghai String Quartet. She previously served as principal cellist of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and is now the principal cellist of the China Philharmonic Orchestra. With an extensive musical background and impeccable technique, her performance is truly mesmerizing.

"Three Wishes for a Rose" is a delicate album centered around themes of love and night. Featuring only a cello and a piano, it delivers the purest essence of musical expression. The album carefully selects thirteen timeless classics from both Chinese and Western repertoires, each evoking warm, familiar memories, like the echoes of past romances.

Ma Xinhua performs on a priceless 18th-century Goffriller cello, while Feng Dan’s masterful touch on a Steinway piano adds shimmering brilliance to the melodies, delicately weaving through countless sweet reminiscences.
